How to Apply for Teachers Service Commission Maternity Leave Online

Kenya’s Teachers Service Commission allows teachers to apply for maternity leaves through an online platform. This helps ease the application process.

Below are the step-by-step procedures for applying for maternity leave online from the TSC portal.

Step 1: Log onto the TSC Online Portal

Open any web browser and proceed to the TSC online portal, tsc.go.ke.

Ensure you are on the right platform, which should be the official website of the TSC.

Step 2: TSC Account Sign in

Sign in To the TSC portal and click “Teacher Portal” or any section provided for logging in. One is required to give his or her TSC number and password to reach their account. In case one does not have the account, he may be asked first to register before access.

Step 3: Proceed to Leave Application Section

After logging in, go to the ‘Leave’ or ‘Apply for Leave’ section in your dashboard. This is a group of different leaves available for teachers.

Click on the Maternity Leave option from this list.

Step 4: Fill Out the Application Form for Maternity Leave

Fill out the application form for maternity leave precisely. The required fields usually include:

  • Start Date of the maternity leave
  • Expected Date of Return
  • Reason for Leave (Maternity)
  • Medical Certificate: Attach a scanned copy of your medical certificate or doctor’s letter confirming pregnancy, where required.
  • Ensure that all information is accurate to avoid any delay in the processing.

Step 5: Attach Supporting Documents

Attach the documents of support in your application, such as a medical certificate or any other relevant document that may be set by TSC.

Ensure the documents are well visible and correctly attached for any eventuality that may lead to the rejection of the application.

Step 6: Submit Your Application

Once all fields are filled and documents attached, click “Submit” to complete your application.

The TSC will then consider your application once it has been made. You will receive a confirmation email or a signal on the portal showing that your application is under consideration.

Step 7: Check on Application Status

From time to time, log into the TSC portal to check your application status.

You will receive a notification that confirms approval and duration, if approved, for maternity leave. You might want to check this status update on your dashboard.

Step 8: Obtain Official Approval

From here, you will receive an official confirmation from the TSC on maternity leave approval; it shows the duration of the leave and when you are expected to report back.
