Administrative Management Assistant (Kisumu) – USEFMs only

Duties

  • Provides administrative support and oversight of the ICASS staff providing services to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Medical Research Unit (MRU) employees in Kisumu and Kericho.
  • Acts as management lead for Kisumu coordinating all management support including residential maintenance, FAP inventories, fuel control, preparation for direct hire arrival and departure and official visitor support. Coordinates day to day work of Facilities Maintenance staff.
  • Provides community liaison service for the employees, serving as liaison with the schools and organizing social events as well as community information to the family members at post.
  • Assists the HR team with recruitment paperwork and interview support. Communicate with ICASS section heads in Nairobi Management sections on a regular basis.
  • Joins all regular Management meetings via phone or in-person.
  • Position requires non-sensitive security clearance and is  supervised by the Deputy Management Counselor.

Education Requirements:

Qualifications and Evaluations

  • Education: Two Years of College is required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience performing administrative functions in an office environment is required.
  • Education: Completion of High School is required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Four years’ experience performing administrative functions in an office environment is required.

Evaluations:

  • LANGUAGE: Level IV English (Fluent, Reading/speaking /writing) is required. (This may be tested.)

Administrative Assistant (KUSLO) Mombasa

Duties

  • The Admin Assistant KUSLO Liaison Lead in Mombasa serves as a crucial link between U.S. government entities, Kenyan ministries/agencies, and the military.
  • This role involves coordinating logistical needs for military operations, establishing, and maintaining relationships with government officials, and analyzing developments in defense sectors. Additionally, responsibilities include overseeing shipping and customs operations, managing facilities, and supporting air transportation activities at Moi International Airport.
  • This role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate complex logistical and administrative tasks effectively.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, logistics, management, or public administration or host country equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the field of airfield operations, facility management, government administration or logistics is required.
  • An additional one (1) year of supervisory experience is required

Education:

  • Two years of college studies is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in the field of airfield operations, facility management, government administration or logistics is required.
  • An additional one (1) year of supervisory experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

  • Administrative duties, Scheduling and coordinating meetings
  • Knowledge in airfield, Port operation
  • Kenya Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs operations.
  • Knowledge in aircraft handling equipment particularly Forklift
